Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Severus Alexander facing right, portrayed from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view typical of eastern provincial coinage. The imperial effigy displays the emperor in military attire with paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The surrounding Greek legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portraiture reflects the conventional idealized style of Severan provincial bronzes struck in the Lydian conventus.
