| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus I (Thrax) facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, presenting a robust military portrait characteristic of his reign. The emperor's effigy displays detailed armour articulation over the cuirass, with paludamentum draped across the left shoulder. The surrounding field carries the Greek imperial titulature legend reading clockwise around the bust. The die work reflects the provincial workshops of Asia Minor, with bold, slightly irregular relief typical of Ephesian civic coinage of the Severan era. |
