| Reverse description | Dionysus, the patron deity of Iasus, stands facing left in a frontal pose upon a ground line, clad in a long chiton and himation. In his outstretched right hand he holds a cantharus tilted downward toward a panther crouching at his feet to the left, while his left hand grasps a long thyrsus held diagonally. The composition reflects the standard Dionysiac iconography common to Carian civic coinage of the Antonine period. The ethnic legend ΙΑϹΕΩΝ arcs around the upper field within a beaded border. |
