Obverse description Draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, laureate, with long beard rendered in short curls, facing left and seen from the rear, wearing cuirass and paludamentum. The portrait reflects the characteristic mature iconography of Marcus Aurelius as co-emperor, with the legend disposed around the periphery of the flan. The obverse legend, partially preserved, identifies the emperor by his imperial titulature in Greek characters.
