| Obverse description | Draped bust of the personified Senate (ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ) facing right, rendered with flowing, elaborately styled hair falling in waves to the shoulder, wearing a draped garment. The portrait is executed in the provincial Greek style typical of Asia Minor civic coinage under Gordian III. The circular legend is disposed around the bust in the field. A small test mark or banker's punch is visible on the neck area. |
