Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Tranquillina facing right, her hair elaborately arranged and bound with a diadem, the drapery visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial Roman style typical of Pontic civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. A Greek legend surrounds the portrait in the field, identifying the empress by her imperial title.
