| Reverse description | Standing figural group of three deities associated with healing: Hygieia, goddess of health, stands to the right, extending a patera from which she feeds a large serpent coiling upward; opposite her, Asclepius stands to the left, his right hand resting upon his characteristic knotted serpent-staff; between the two principal figures, the dwarf healing deity Telesphorus stands frontally, enveloped in his hooded cloak. The composition is framed by a multi-line Greek legend distributed in the field and along the periphery, identifying the issuing civic authority and the eponymous strategos. |
