Obverse description Laureate bust of the emperor Trajan facing right, portrayed nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the vigorous Alexandrian provincial style. The laureate wreath is clearly articulated with fine detail, and the imperial effigy displays a strong, naturalistic profile characteristic of Trajanic portraiture. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΤΡΑΙΑΝ ϹΕΒ ΓΕΡΜ ΔΑΚΙΚ, identifying the emperor with his full titulature as Imperator, Augustus, Germanicus, and Dacicus. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with areas of green patination visible across the field.
