Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped and cuirassed, the paludamentum visible at the shoulder, the bust rendered in three-quarter view from the rear in the characteristic Alexandrian style. The emperor's effigy is boldly modelled with strong facial features. The Greek imperial legend encircles the portrait within the field, partially visible along the upper periphery of the flan.

Reverse description Nike, the winged goddess of victory, standing and driving a biga (two-horse chariot) to the right at full gallop. Nike holds a victor's wreath in her outstretched right hand and a palm-branch in her left, her drapery billowing behind her in dynamic motion. The two horses are rendered in energetic stride, their legs extended. The regnal date legend appears in the lower field. The composition reflects the Alexandrian mint's vigorous provincial die-cutting tradition.
