| Reverse description | The syncretic deity Harsomtous-Heracles depicted as a youthful standing figure facing left, wearing a kalathos (basket crown) and lotus flower upon the head. The right hand is raised to the mouth in a gesture of divine silence or suckling, an iconographic trait of the child Horus. In the left hand, the figure holds a club upon which a hawk is perched, blending Heraclean and Horus iconography. The nome ethnic and regnal year appear in the field, identifying this issue as a product of the Heracleopolite nome in year 13 of Trajan's reign. |
