Reverse description Standing figure of Chuit-Hathor (the local Athribite deity, a syncretism of the Egyptian goddess Hathor) depicted facing left, holding a long sceptre in the left hand and a bull (possibly an oryx) in the right hand, referencing the sacred animal cult of the Athribite nome. The reverse design reflects the distinctive Alexandrian nome coinage series issued under Trajan, wherein each nome of Egypt was represented by its tutelary deity. The Greek legend identifying the Athribite nome and the regnal year appears in the field, though the coin's advanced wear renders fine details difficult to discern.
