Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Severus Alexander facing right, seen from the front, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Pergamene mint. The imperial effigy is presented with paludamentum over the cuirass, conveying both military and civic authority. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his full titulature, running around the periphery of the flan.
