| Reverse description | Frontal tetrastyle temple façade housing the cult statue of Artemis Leukophryene, shown standing facing, wearing a kalathos (cylindrical headdress) and supported by attendant figures at her sides; two Nikai fly inward from either side to crown the goddess. A globe is depicted within the pediment above. The composition celebrates the neocorate status of Magnesia and the city's close religious association with the sanctuary of Artemis Leukophryene. The encircling reverse legend records the name of the presiding grammateus and the civic and cultic titles of the Magnetes. |
