Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Bithynian coinage. The emperor's radiate crown is clearly rendered, with the bust showing paludamentum drapery over the left shoulder. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible against a dotted border. The portrait displays the characteristic full beard associated with Severan portraiture.
