| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, portrayed in three-quarter view from the rear, displaying the elaborate shoulder and chest armour typical of imperial provincial coinage of the Severan period. The imperial legend in Greek characters runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the youthful features associated with Caracalla's early co-reign, with visible drapery folds at the shoulder. The flan is irregular and shows considerable wear with surface encrustation consistent with prolonged burial. |
