Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, depicted from the rear, presenting a three-quarter back view characteristic of mid-third-century provincial bronze coinage. The imperial effigy displays a radiate laurel wreath, paludamentum draped over the left shoulder, and the segmented plates of the cuirass rendered in relief. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his full imperial titulature.
