| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus I (Thrax) facing right, portrayed in three-quarter view from the front, with the paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The imperial titulature in Greek runs around the periphery of the flan as a circular legend. The portrait reflects the characteristically bold and powerful physiognomy associated with Maximinus on provincial coinage of this period. |
