| Obverse description | Laureate, lightly bearded bust of Commodus facing right, depicted as co-emperor under Marcus Aurelius, wearing cuirass and paludamentum, seen from the front. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial die-cutting style characteristic of the Pergamene conventus. The obverse legend surrounds the bust in Greek characters identifying the emperor by his abbreviated titulature. |

| Reverse description | Bearded river-god Makestos reclines to the left, his body semi-draped, holding a cornucopia in one arm and a statuette of Zeus bearing a thunderbolt and a long sceptre in the other hand. At the feet of the river-god, a clump of reeds alludes to the riparian setting. To the left of the composition, an eagle perches in an oak tree, a motif with strong Pergamene religious associations. The reverse legend names the strategos Rouphos and the ethnic of the Attaitans, with the letter Phi rendered in the distinctive local form ·Ι·. |
