| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Carian civic coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic bearded effigy of Marcus Aurelius with a laurel wreath crown. A Greek imperial titulature legend surrounds the bust along the periphery of the flan. The coin surface is heavily patinated with encrustation consistent with prolonged burial, obscuring fine details of the portrait. |
