Reverse description Heracles seated right upon a rocky outcrop, draped in the Nemean lion skin, his right arm resting on the rock beside him while his left hand holds a club upright. The figure is rendered in a relaxed, contemplative pose typical of the resting Heracles type seen on provincial coinage of Asia Minor. The encircling legend ΚΥΖΙΚΗΝΩΝ ΝΕΟΚΟΡΩΝ in Greek identifies Cyzicus by its honorific title of neokoros, denoting the city's status as a keeper of an imperial cult temple.
