Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of the emperor Marcus Aurelius, draped in cuirass and paludamentum, facing right and depicted from the rear in three-quarter view. The imperial portrait presents the emperor in military attire, consistent with the early co-regency period. The encircling obverse legend reads ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor as Augustus Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus.
