Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, depicted from the rear in the three-quarter back view characteristic of later Severan provincial coinage. The effigy displays a short beard and carefully rendered curled hair beneath the laurel wreath, with visible pteryges at the shoulder of the cuirass. The encircling Greek legend runs around the full periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor with his full imperial titulature. The coin exhibits an olive-green patina consistent with Phrygian provincial bronze production of the early third century AD.
