| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted three-quarter from the rear, showing elaborate paludamentum and muscled cuirass with detailed ornamentation. The emperor's youthful features are rendered in the prevailing provincial style, with the laurel wreath clearly articulated around the head. The encircling Greek legend runs along the obverse periphery. The overall style is characteristic of the Carian provincial mint at Antioch ad Maeandrum. |
