Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal view, with finely articulated paludamentum and muscled cuirass visible at the truncation. The imperial effigy displays characteristic early Severan portraiture with curled hair beneath the laurel wreath. A Greek legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show a reddish-brown patina with traces of earthen encrustation consistent with provincial bronze coinage of Asia Minor.
