Reverse description Front view of a tetrastyle temple with four columns, the pediment apparently bearing a shield or decorative element; within the intercolumniation stands a figure identified as Heracles facing front, head turned to the right, holding what appears to be a spear and club. The composition reflects the local cult imagery of Erythrae and is rendered in the characteristic flat relief of Ionian provincial coinage. The Greek legend encircles the reverse field, naming the presiding strategos and the civic ethnic.
