| Obverse description | Youthful laureate bust of Emperor Commodus, draped in paludamentum and cuirass, facing right, depicted from the front-centre. The portrait reflects the early years of his reign with characteristically smooth, idealized features. The surrounding legend in Greek characters identifies the emperor by his imperial titulature. The flan is irregular and the strike moderately worn, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the period. |
