| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and arranged in the characteristic Severan style, drawn back and coiled at the nape of the neck with loose curls framing the face. The empress is depicted with a diadem, her robes rendered in fine detail across the shoulder and chest. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait within a beaded border, the whole struck on a broad, heavy flan typical of Lydian provincial bronze coinage. |
