Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing left, wearing the paludamentum over the left shoulder, rendered in high relief with pronounced facial features and a short beard typical of Antonine portraiture. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan within a shallow border. The portrait displays the characteristic mature, slightly idealized effigy of the emperor as employed by the Alexandrian mint, with the laurel wreath rendered in careful detail.
