| Obverse description | Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, with hair elaborately dressed and coiled at the nape of the neck in the characteristic Antonine fashion. The portrait is rendered in the refined provincial style of the Alexandrian mint, capturing the idealized imperial likeness. The Greek legend ΦΑΥϹΤΙΝΑ ϹΕΒ ΘΥΓ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹΕΒ runs around the periphery of the field, identifying her as Augusta and daughter of the pious Augustus. |
