| Reverse description | Radiate effigy of Helios, the solar deity, standing erect within a galloping biga racing to the right, his right hand extended and holding a whip. The dynamic composition reflects the Hellenistic artistic tradition prevalent in Lydian provincial coinage. The reverse legend, disposed around the field, names the local magistrate Publius as grammateus and identifies the issuing civic authority of Tralles. The coin surface shows typical patination and wear consistent with a hammered provincial bronze of the Antonine period. |
