Additional information

Attuda was a minor Phrygian city whose civic coinage under Antoninus Pius frequently advertised homonoia — formal concord — with neighboring communities, a diplomatic posturing common among cities competing for status within the Conventus of Alabanda. The magistrate name embedded in this legend, Ulpius Claudianus, points to a family carrying Trajanic citizenship grants, the nomen Ulpius being the clearest marker.

The reversed Ζ in the legend is not a die engraver's casual error but appears consistently enough on issues from this workshop to suggest a locally trained cutter working outside the mainstream Greek lapidary tradition.
