| Reverse description | Standing figure of Nilus facing left, holding a reed in one hand and a cornucopia in the other, personifying the abundance of the Nile River. To the right, Euthenia, the personification of prosperity, stands facing left with one arm raised and holding two ears of corn in the other hand. The two figures together form a compositional allegory of Egyptian fertility and plenty. The regnal year date appears in the field. The reverse is typical of Alexandrian civic iconography celebrating the wealth of Egypt under Roman imperial rule. |
