Obverse description Laureate, nude bust of the emperor Trajan facing right, with an aegis draped over the left shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic-Roman tradition characteristic of Alexandrian civic coinage, with strong facial features and a laurel wreath crowning the head. The surrounding Greek legend, partially legible, encircles the effigy and records the emperor's full titulature. The flan shows the typical irregular, hand-struck character of provincial bronze coinage of the period.
