Obverse description Laureate, nude bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the vigorous, high-relief style characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The laureate wreath is depicted with fine detail, and the aegis — adorned with serpentine border — identifies the emperor with divine military authority. The legend is distributed around the bust within a beaded border, reading in Greek abbreviation. The portrait displays strong facial modelling consistent with the mature Trajanic iconographic type used in Egyptian provincial issues.
