| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder. The effigy is of normal proportions, rendered in the Imperial Roman provincial style characteristic of Alexandrian coinage. The obverse legend, arranged around the bust in Greek characters, identifies the emperor with his full titulature. The portrait conveys the strong, idealized facial features typical of Trajanic numismatic imagery. |
