Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped and cuirassed, with the legend partially visible around the periphery of the heavily worn flan. The portrait, though significantly abraded, retains the characteristic strong profile associated with Trajanic Alexandrian coinage. The obverse legend in Greek characters surrounds the imperial effigy, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The striking is typical of the provincial Alexandrian mint, with an irregular flan and somewhat weak detail consistent with the hammered technique.
