| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style. The imperial effigy displays characteristic portrait features of Trajan with a wreath of laurel around the head. The encircling legend in Greek identifies the emperor with his full titulature. The flan is broad and irregular, typical of Alexandrian nome coinage of the early 2nd century AD. |
