Reverse description The lunar deity Mên shown as a dynamic equestrian figure, riding on horseback to the right, wearing his characteristic Phrygian cap and with a crescent at his shoulders. The horse is depicted in a vigorous prancing pose with forelegs raised, rendered in relief typical of Lydian-Phrygian provincial coinage. The Greek civic legend encircles the type, identifying the local magistrate and the issuing community of the Aninetaeans. The composition fills the broad flan, with traces of a ground line beneath the horse.
