Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The emperor's facial features are boldly modelled in the provincial style characteristic of Mysian civic coinage. The circumferential Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, framing the imperial portrait.

Reverse description Tyche, the personification of civic fortune, stands facing with head turned to the left, rendered in flowing robes in the Hellenistic tradition. She holds a ship's rudder in her right hand, symbolising the maritime importance of Cyzicus, and a cornucopia in her left arm, denoting abundance. The figure is depicted in full length against an open field, with the encircling Greek magistrate and civic legend occupying the full periphery of the flan.
