| Reverse description | Zeus enthroned right on a low stool, his upper body turned slightly forward, extending his right hand holding a thunderbolt and grasping a long sceptre in his left. The deity is rendered in the traditional Hellenistic iconographic convention, with drapery falling across his lap and lower limbs. The ethnic legend ΛΑΕΡΤΕΙΤΩΝ is distributed in the field around the central type, identifying the issuing civic authority of Laertes. The overall style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of Cilicia Trachea under the Gordian-Maximinus period. |
