| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, draped with paludamentum, facing right and seen from the rear, rendered in the provincial style typical of Carian civic coinage. The partial legend running along the periphery reads ] ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒΑϹ ΑΡΜΕΝΙΑΚΟϹ, referencing the emperor's title following the Armenian campaign of 163–166 AD. The bust is depicted with strong relief characteristic of Cos civic bronzes of the Antonine period. |
