Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, displaying the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the segmented cuirass in typical Alexandrian provincial style. The imperial effigy is boldly modelled in high relief, with the characteristic short beard and laureate wreath of Hadrian clearly discernible. The Greek legend encircles the bust, reading from left to right along the upper and lower periphery of the flan. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with large-module Alexandrian bronze coinage of the Hadrianic period.
