| Reverse description | The personification of Euthenia, goddess of abundance and prosperity, depicted reclining to the left upon a recumbent sphinx. She holds a sceptre in one hand and ears of corn along with poppies in the other, symbolising fertility and the wealth of Egypt. The composition is a characteristic Alexandrian reverse type associated with the early regnal years of Hadrian. The date regnal formula appears in the field. The reverse exhibits the bold, low-relief style typical of hammered Alexandrian bronze issues of this period. |
