Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, seen from the front, with an aegis on the chest. The imperial portrait is rendered in the provincial style typical of Pergamene civic coinage of the Severan period. A Greek legend encircles the field, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature.
