| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, rendered in three-quarter view seen from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and pteryges articulated at the upper arm. The imperial effigy is depicted in the characteristic provincial style of the Ephesian mint, with a radiate wreath of laurel framing the portrait. The encircling Greek legend runs along the outer border of the flan. |
