(Translation: Emperor Caesar Marcus Aurelius Severus Antoninus Pontifex Maximus Britannicus Magnus Pius Augustus Germanicus)
Reverse description The emperor, in military attire, stands erect in a quadriga advancing to the left, his right hand raised in a gesture of address or acclamation while his left hand holds a long sceptre. The four horses are depicted in vigorous motion, conveying an impression of imperial triumph and power. The regnal year legend appears in the field, rendered in Greek alphanumeric notation. The composition follows a well-established Alexandrian reverse type celebrating imperial authority through the triumphal chariot motif.
