Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, portrayed in three-quarter rear view, with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The imperial effigy displays characteristic youthful features of the emperor rendered in the provincial style typical of the Sardis mint. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his full titulature.
