Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Caracalla facing right, depicted from behind, presenting a three-quarter rear view. The portrait follows the conventional military representation of the emperor as Augustus, with paludamentum and cuirass visible. The surrounding Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan. The flan shows characteristic irregular edges typical of provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period.
