| Reverse description | The emperor Antoninus Pius depicted in full military dress, mounted on horseback and galloping to the right, his paludamentum billowing behind him. He thrusts a spear downward toward a fallen foe beneath the horse's hooves while carrying a shield on his left arm, a composition conveying imperial martial prowess. The regnal year legend L Ζ (Year 7) appears in the field, consistent with the Alexandrian dating convention. The scene is rendered in the characteristic robust style of the Alexandrian mint. |
