Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial Roman style typical of Alexandrian coinage. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic mature features with a short beard, the laurel wreath denoting imperial dignity. The surrounding field bears a Greek imperial titulature legend. The flan is notably broad and irregular, consistent with Alexandrian bronze production of the mid-second century AD.

Reverse description Tyche, the personification of Fortune and patron deity of Alexandria, depicted reclining to the left upon an ornate couch or kline. She wears the kalathos (modius) upon her head, symbolising abundance and civic prosperity. Her right hand rests upon a large ship's rudder, an attribute emblematic of Alexandria's preeminence as a maritime and commercial centre. The composition fills the broad flan and is rendered in the bold, somewhat provincial style characteristic of Alexandrian drachm coinage. The date regnal formula L Ζ (Year 7) appears in the field.
